2026 IMSA Season in America with PFAFF Motorsports
Lamborghini factory driver Sandy will contest the 2026 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship in America. The 25-year-old from Forfar will reunite with top Canadian team Pfaff Motorsport for the full GTD PRO campaign.
For Sandy, who raced with Pfaff Motorsport at Watkins Glen in New York State earlier this year in a one-off appearance in IMSA, it marks his first all-American championship since 2019. The 10-race series starts at Daytona on January 24-25. “It’s fantastic to be back racing a full season in the States,” the Scot, personally-backed by Tunnocks, stated. “To be returning to drive with Pfaff Motorsport and contest the full IMSA season is super exciting.”
Sandy will partner fellow Lamborghini factory driver Andrea Caldarelli across the campaign. For the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona, Sandy and Caldarelli will be joined by James Hinchcliffe and Lamborghini factory driver Mirko Bortolotti. Then for the 12 Hours of Sebring and Motul Petit Le Mans, Sandy and Caldarelli will welcome additional support from Franck Perera, completing a full factory-driver lineup for these two endurance events. “We have a very, very strong PRO line-up right throughout the season,” Sandy continued. “I’ve worked hard to get to this stage in my career and I’m now ready to take it to the next level.”
The season promises to deliver another significant first. While Sandy and Pfaff Motorsport will give the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo 2 its final race outing with the team at the Daytona 24Hrs, they will then debut the all-new Lamborghini Temerario GT3 at the 12 Hours of Sebring in March. “The Huracan GT3 and Evo 2 have been pivotal in my development and race career,” the former British GT champ continued, “and it will be an honour and privilege to give the new Temerario GT3 its race debut at Sebring.”
Sandy and the Toronto-based Pfaff Motorsport team have already tested the Temerario GT3 at Sebring, completing the three-day exercise in late November.
The 10-race IMSA season starts with the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona in January, before heading to Sebring on March 20-21. The championship then finishes on October 3 at Road Atlanta, having along the way visited many of America’s iconic circuits including Laguna Seca in California, Watkins Glen, Road America at Elkhart Lake, and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
“It’s going to be a brilliant season, and I can’t wait to get started,” Sandy concluded.
