About…
Name : Sandy Mitchell
Home Town : Forfar, Scotland.
Age: 26

Sandy started out on four wheels at the age of four and a half when he was lucky enough to get his hands on a Honda powered off road AK 10 buggy. He quickly learned over steer, under steer and how to do “doughnuts”!!
After a few visits to the Lets Go Karting at Knockhill in 2008 Sandy passed his ARKS test and started Karting at the age of nine the following year at The North of Scotland Kart Club. Huge thanks to everyone at Golspie!!
Sandy may only be 26 years old, but this naturally talented young driver has already achieved so much success in the world of motorsport. A multiple Scottish and British Karting Champion and youngest ever Scottish single-seater race winner, Sandy has been described as “arguably the most exciting young driver in Scotland”. His front running pace and results caught the attention of McLaren GT and he grabbed the massive opportunity to race and develop the brand new McLaren 570S during the 2016 and 2017 seasons. He became the youngest driver ever to compete and win races in the history of British GT at only 16! Sandy then stepped up into European GT3 Racing in a Lamborghini Huracan for 2018. Adapting quickly, he scored podiums and race wins in his debut season in GT3. A return to European GT racing in 2019 as well as competing in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo North American series made for an action packed 2019 bringing even more success. 2020 would see Sandy have his most successful season to date, winning the British GT Overall Championship and the Spa 24 hour Race in class for the second time. This was topped off by being announced as a Lamborghini Factory Driver for 2021, a position he has held since. Since 2021, Sandy has scored multiple podiums and race wins in British GT and GT World Challenge Europe as well as competing in the prestigious Rolex Daytona 24 race three times. Now racing full time in the GTD Pro category of the IMSA Weathertech Championship, the 2026 season is a not only a change of championship, but also machinery. Sandy was one of three Lamborghini Factory drivers to compete in the Race Debut of the all new Lamborghini Temerario GT3. This is the new era of Lamborghini Squadra Corse after using the Huracan GT3 since 2015. With one podium this year already, the new car is making fantastic progress in it’s debut season.
Sandy’s future ambition as a Factory driver is to win the iconic Le Mans 24 Hour and to challenge at the very pinnacle in the world of sports car and GT racing.
